Salah satu produk yang cukup terkenal dan menjadi primadona di tengah adalah sepasang patung pengantin keramik Kasongan duduk berdampingan. Patung ini dikenal sebagai Loro Blonyo. Patung ini diadopsi dari sepasang patung pengantin Istana Yogyakarta. Dalam bahasa Jawa, Loro berarti dua atau sepasang, sementara Blonyo berarti riasan melalui prosesi mandi dan berpakaian. Kasongan lama dikenal sebagai desa penghasil gerabah. Desa Wisata terletak di Desa Bangunjiwo, Kasihan sekitar 6 km selatan Jogja atau Yogyakarta atau lebih dikenal sebagai Kasongan. Gerabah itu sendiri adalah alat yang terbuat dari tanah liat / lempung sebagai orang mengenalnya sebagai keramik. Hampir seluruh warga Kasongan mempunyai aktivitas rutin yang membuat berbagai kerajinan dan souvenir tembikar unik, sebagian besar menggunakan tanah liat sebagai bahan baku ini.

Pada awalnya masyarakat membuat gerabah Kasongan terbatas pada peralatan rumah tangga, seperti kendi (wadah air), barel (wadah air), anglo (sejenis kompor dengan bahan bakar arang, untuk memasak), Kendil (untuk memasak), dan lainnya -Lain-lain. Peru workshop we found through the Help for the craftsman, a nonprofit organization that connects designers in America by artisans in developing countries to promote fair trade.

This Fiesta sugar, creamer, and figure 8 tray made of Homer Laughlin Company in 1986 or later. This is seen Post86. Although it is not "vintage" Fiesta, it's a beautiful Fiesta sugar and creamer set that is very collectible. I love the beautiful pink color in this set.

Fiesta ware is probably the most easily recognizable lines to Homer Laughlin China Co. of Newell, West Virginia produced. The vintage Art Deco style Fiesta was introduced at a trade fair in 1936 and production continued until the late 1960s. The reintroduction of line in 1986 and is still popular today. Post86 whereas Fiesta issued in 1986 and later.

Objective: The tray is 10 "wide, creamer is 2-1/2" high, and sugar with lid is 4 "high.

This Fiesta sugar, creamer, and Figure 8 Tray is in excellent condition. There are no chips, cracks or repairs. Beautiful!

Lusterware

RARE Hall Very nice I'm told, bright pink meat casserole bowl measures approx. 7 1/2inches across and 3 inches high. On the outside has a very good scalloped design. HALL is Embossed on the bottom that shows that this is older than the pice that has a sign stamp Hall.

Bayat Klaten, located on Pagerjurang Hamlet, Melikan Village, Wedi Subdistrict, 30 km southeast of the densely populated city of Yogyakarta on the island of Java, where 6500 people were killed and more than 1 million people lost their homes after the May 2006 earthquake that measured 6, 2 on the Richter scale, has the bustling gallery pottery center. Around eighty percent of families, especially mothers in this country who are involved in making ceramic earn a living.

Based on history, in an earthen Melikan (Bayat) was developed for about 600 years ago. The tomb Sunana Padang Aran, there is "Gentong Sinaga in complex Prabuyeksa door, past the door Sunana Padang Aran's Grave. Gentong Sinaga function as a container for water wudlu Sunana Padang Aran and his companions when the time comes for prayer.

Sunana Padang Aran's (Bayat) Grave was built in 1955 Saka. It was found in Panemut doors that were writing or ancient inscriptions written: "Wisaya hanata wisiking War" (the north). Sangkakala shows years of construction, which means Wisaya: 5, Hanata: 5, Wisik: 5, Rat: 1 This means that the tomb was built in 1555 saka. In the south of the gate, it is written: "And the 1555 mass 4" which means that the saka year. (DWI M., 2005: 8).

According to the local community, the word "Bayat" is derived from the Javanese (tembayatan), which means mutual assistance. Therefore, all major problems will be solved until all citizens are working together to resolve problems.

Melikan Board notes that at the beginning of Earth Crafts, the first editor was a pitcher, bowl of water usually carry Sunana Padang Aran Bayat as supply in his journey spreading Islam as Melikan (Bayat) Klaten village. The device is made of thin wood or stone as talenan (thin and flat wood which are cut vegetables) that have up to 40 cm in diameter and 6 cm thick. Talenan is placed at an angle of 45 degrees from the center of the turning shaft. Then, the axle is connected with strong silk cotton tree rope connected bamboo as support. Then, the rope is moved in the direction of the legs forward foot. It rotates three times faster than ordinary ceramic wheels due to gravity of the country. Downside is a unique round can not be used to create large objects. Product has a maximum height of 30 centimeters.

According to local belief, the technology arrived in Pagerjurang the impact Sunana Bayat Muslim cleric who spread Islamic teachings in this area in the 17th century. He is Sunana Bayat asked local villagers to develop a device that enabled craftswomen sit in a modest way in the creation of ceramics, without sitting with her legs spread apart. The Bayat, clay is used as material gathered from the mountains Jabalkat that mixed with kaolin and silica to make it stronger. Then when the battered ready to process. Jabalkat Mountain consists of two words, Jabal (mountain) and floor (high), therefore, Jabalkat means high mountains.

Jabalkat Mountain stretches from north to south, the northern part of the mountain is gede. Ian Gregory is the best known of the three ceramists to participate in this exhibition. Not only is he a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association of Great Britain, but also a number of books written for potters. His work can be found in numerous public collections including the V & A Museum in London.
All work shown stoneware sculpture by both animal and human forms. This includes examples of dry ash glazes and salt-glazed work.

Ellerby trained under Graham Henry Hammond and the Canadian potter, John Reeve, in Farnham. John had previously worked at the Leach Pottery and was a major influence in the Graham's early years. Since leaving Farnham, Graham has taught ceramics and art full-time, which does him little time to exhibit his work. It is very gratifying to be able to participate in this exhibition.
All Graham's pots are fired in a reduced wood / oil burning furnace to 1300 degrees. Some salt is added to the end of the firing and the kiln has cooled to reduce the fire by filling in boxes with wet logs. The furnace is then allowed to cool slowly, two days before the opening.

Clare Sutcliffe is pots for 25 years. She says she was very happy to Michael O'Brien, Michael Cardew's right to meet in Nigeria, about three years into her career. Since then he has still a constant source of inspiration and lean. Additionally she spent 18 months in 1985-86 working at the Bridge Pottery Wenford Seth Cardew's first pupil.
Clara uses local clay stream, together with bricks, clay and wood ash glazes for decoration, which they find compatible with wood-fire.

Since then Joseph has set up a studio with a colleague, which includes the construction of an outdoor gas fired salt kiln in the West Country. He also teaches part-time potter at Richmond Adult & Community College, which includes running a special glass salt-only.

From Roro Jonggrang batik-house, we drove off to Bantul area Kasongan. Kasongan itself is known as a center for arts and clay pottery has become one of the destinations in Yogyakarta. For Kasongan history can be found here.

The Buss at the wide main street with the green lawn seen almost on the road. The last turn took us on smaller roads where the ceramic and pottery store fodder on both sides are waiting for customers.

A man who worked in the pottery workshop in Bantul, Indonesia, on May 20. Approximately 95 percent of companies in the worst-hit Bantul district south of Yogyakarta that fully or partially destroyed, a report the World Bank's recently become a very effective last year shows the earthquake.

Grandma Suwarno Harto, at the age of more than 65 years, still agile and well behaved in serving customers who come to her house. Various merchandises displayed in a store, such as the piggy bank (savings), pottery flask (water vessel), and a replica of Chinese ceramics.
Harto Suwarno mother can be said as a pioneer of the history of pottery that developed in the District for decades Bayat, Klaten Regency, Central Java. With her husband is no longer active aging because of illness, Mrs. Harto Suwarno are heirs of their parents and grandparents.

For over 20 years, the Chattanooga Nature Center was one of the attractions of the city dear. Through educational programs during the school year, summer day camps and partnerships with organizations such as Ruby Falls, the Creative Discovery Museum and the Tennessee River Gardens, it has provided thousands of visitors the opportunity to interact with wildlife and learn about plants, trees and ecosystems of the region.

So when Alan and Bonny Shuptrine, owners of Designs and Gold Leaf Gallery, wanted to give the community a way, they immediately thought of the nature center.

"Our children have attended camps in CNC nature each year and have loved the experience," said Shuptrine. "We thought that the co-sponsoring an exhibition of art and nature walk is a good way to draw attention to the center and raise money for its education programs."

Jenni Veal, director of CNC, has decided that the fundraising would be a wonderful opportunity to showcase works of art outdoors. It also recognizes the center of "return to its roots," according KristinaMontague, CNC Chairman of the Board of Directors.

"We were known as the Tennessee Wildlife Center in the past three years, but since we are not involved in the rehabilitation of wildlife, we returned to our original name and our goal on the initial Environmental Conservation. "
The event, "Art and Nature: An evening under the stars" will be held Saturday from 5:30 am to 9 pm (rain date: Saturday, July 27). More than 100 works of art created in a variety of media by local and regional artisans will be on sale.
